Intelligent Protection System (IPS)

IPS is a clever series of measures that work together to deliver incredible levels of occupant safety. The rigid passenger safety cell has energy-absorbing crumple zones, both front and rear, to reduce the effects of impact. We’ve added more airbags to minimise injury, in addition to fitting advanced seat and safety belt technology designed to keep driver and passengers safely in their seats.

You should feel a lot safer knowing that, along with the driver and passenger front airbags, there are side airbags with head and thorax protection, or optional inflatable curtain airbags with thorax side airbags. We’ve even fitted a driver’s knee airbag as standard

Seat and seatbelt technology

Each seat is fitted with an anti-submarine ramp that helps prevent you from sliding under the seat belt, in case of impact. Other safety technology on Fiesta’s seats includes: whiplash-optimised front seats, three-point belts and Beltminder safety belt reminder system that ensures anyone in the front seat buckles up.

ISOFIX child seat attachments

The safety of children on the move is paramount. Available as an accessory, the specially-designed Britax Römer child seat can be secured with an ISOFIX system on the rear outer seats. A similar version for children up to 18 months old is also available (accessory).

Headlamp Courtesy Delay

This feature comes as standard, on the entire Fiesta range. When you arrive home after an enjoyable night out, flash the left stalk and the headlamps will stay on for a short while, illuminating the way to your door. So your clothes aren’t ruined by tripping up or stepping through mud.

Security

With a car this attractive and fun to drive, you want to know it’ll be secure, wherever you park it. That’s why we have incorporated so many security features. The first line of defence is the standard perimeter alarm on the Titanium and optional on Style and Zetec-S. Then there are the locks: all high-security, anti-burst and shielded with strengthened mountings. And for extra measure, there’s our patented Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) immobiliser, which means only your pre-programmed key will start the engine.
