Technical highlights

From the ‘Ford Power’ start button that readies the engine, to headlights that illuminate your way around corners, and windscreen wipers that automatically spring into action at the first raindrop… Mondeo is bristling with the latest technology to help make every journey safer, more relaxing and enjoyable.

Bluetooth®* with Voice Control

Now you can choose to safely make hands-free calls on the move by using Voice Control technology. This lets you control a Bluetooth®* compatible mobile, as well as the car’s audio, DVD navigation and climate control systems – just by using your voice (Standard on Titanium)

MP3 connector

Using this socket you can plug in a MP3 player and listen to your favourite music. And if using Ford Converse+ all tracks will be displayed on the colour TFT (Thin Film Transistor) cluster display, so you can easily select what to play using the audio head unit.

Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Ford Convers+

This intuitive digital command centre helps you stay in complete control of many of the car’s systems. Featuring a standard, enhanced or Ford Convers+ cluster display, the HMI is operated by two steering wheel-mounted toggles for audio and vehicle settings. With the left toggle you can find and change radio stations or CD tracks, as well as set the volume. The right toggle switch controls the cluster display for vehicle settings and the trip computer. On the Ford Convers+ cluster display, the right toggle lets you scroll through MultiMedia lists, controlling the phone, radio, and CD player.

'FordPower' Starter Button

Security-encrypted sensors automatically ready the engine when they detect the key’s unique code. Simply press the clutch on the manual version, or the brake on the automatic, and push the ‘FordPower’ Starter Button to start your car. (Standard on Titanium)

Lighting

Whenever the headlights are on, a soft, amber glow illuminates the centre console area around the gearshift There is also the added convenience of having the way to your front door clearly lit at night, as the Home Safe headlights and optional puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car.

Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (DEATC)

What if you feel the cold, but your passengers don’t? You and your front seat passenger can set the temperature with up to 4° variation between you. Your rear seat passengers also have adjustable vents to keep them comfortable on the pillars between the front and back seats.

TÜV allergy, British certification and Asthma Society of Ireland approved

If you, or a member of your family suffer from allergies you’ll be relieved to know that we have fitted an integrated pollen filter. All the materials we use inside Mondeo have been fully tested to minimise allergy risk. They meet the stringent anti-allergy requirements of the TÜV TOXPROOF Criteria Catalogue for Vehicle Interiors, a renowned independent German quality standard. They also have the ‘seal of approval’ from the British Allergy Foundation and the Asthma Society of Ireland.

Headlamp Courtesy Delay

The headlights and optional puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car. A convenient feature that should help you see your way safely to your door at night.

Park Assist

There are optional front and rear sensors that make parking and manoeuvring both safer and easier. An audible warning helps you judge the distance between your car and any obstacle behind or in front of you, so you have complete confidence and peace of mind, particularly in tight spaces.

Active safety features

The Mondeo’s active safety features help provide the safest possible environment for you and your passengers. These features include:
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) to help prevent skidding with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) for more stable braking.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Traction Assist (TA) monitors the rotation of the wheels, as well as the steering wheel angle, yaw angle and sideways movement. If the sensors detect either the front or rear tyres slipping, the onboard computer modifies the engine power and applies the brakes to individual wheels. This keeps them under control and helps keep the vehicle stable. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) is there to ensure full braking force is available whenever necessary, helping reduce stopping distances in an emergency. To alert other drivers if you do have to brake heavily, the hazard warning lights automatically come on.

Halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)

With AFS, the headlights swivel to the left or right by up to 15° according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So, as you turn the wheel, the dipped lights swivel to illuminate the road as you take the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment. Integrated static cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give even more light on sharper bends, to help you avoid any potential problems around the next corner. (Standard on Titanium)

Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)

When you fall for something as alluring as Mondeo, you want to know that it will remain safe and secure when you have to leave it anywhere. That’s why we have incorporated so many security features. The locks are all high-security, anti-burst and shielded with strengthened mountings. And for extra peace of mind, there’s our patented Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) immobiliser, which disables the engine until your uniquely-coded key is put into the ignition or is recognised by the sensors.

Double locking with global open/close

Mondeo’s double locking key facility means you can remotely close all the electric windows and optional sunroof, as well as deadlocking all the doors. So if an intruder gains entry by breaking the windows, they will be unable to unlock the doors from inside. You can activate double locking simply by pressing the lock button on the key fob twice.
You can also open all the windows and the optional sunroof in your Mondeo, by pressing and holding the unlock button. To close them, simply press and hold the lock button.

Home Safe headlights

The headlights and optional puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car. A convenient feature that should help you see your way safely to your door at night.
