The 5.4L V8 is engineered to put the torque where it is needed most – delivering 85 percent of peak torque at just 1500 rpm

Big Towing Capacity

If you need to tow a large boat or camper-trailer, Expedition is the full-size SUV you want. The 5.4L V8's 310 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque give the Expedition 4x4 a maximum 4173 Kg towing capacity when properly equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. (The Expedition EL has a maximum towing capacity of 4037 Kg.)

Independent Rear Suspension

Expedition delivers an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride. That is due in large part to the Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) that allows each wheel to respond independently to rough or uneven surfaces for a smooth and controlled ride.

PowerFold -Third-Row Seats

One word best describes Expedition: accommodating. It offers available seating for eight. Leather-trimmed first- and second-row seating is optional on select models. An available third-row PowerFold bench seat offers additional space on demand by folding flat at the touch of a button (Standard on Expedition Eddie Bauer). And every Expedition comes standard with a 40/20/40 second-row bench with CenterSlide center section, allowing easy access from the first row.

AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC)

AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC) helps you stay in control. Standard AdvanceTrac automatically applies the brakes and adjusts engine torque whenever it detects wheelslip, and helps to avoid skidding and fishtailing by controlling understeer and oversteer. It also helps maintain more control in road conditions such as gravel or rain.

We have got you covered. Expedition features standard front seat airbags, side-impact airbags, plus the Safety Canopy System with its large side curtain airbags that enhance protection for outboard occupants in all three rows.
