September 25, 2009 – Ford Motor Company has teamed up with “The Jay Leno Show” in the United States to provide an all-new battery electric version of the Ford Focus ST 5-door for celebrities to drive in the programme's regular "Green Car Challenge" segment.

18 June 2009 – “Last month showed a smaller decrease on last year than previous months, but there’s no comfort in these figures,” says Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director, Ford Ireland. ”Demand in May and June 2008 was weak due to the new VRT change. Fact is, we’re facing a fall of 65% for the entire year, to little more than 60,000 units.”
27 May 2009 – Celebrating 10 years of unprecedented success in Ireland, with sales of almost 90,000 units, Ford’s Focus is now being introduced in an ultra-low CO2 version to take advantage of the tax savings for low-emission cars. 1 May, 2009 – Ford lreland has teamed up with O2 by providing a fleet of Ford Ranger for the company’s Grand Slam Trophy Tour. The Tour has been bringing the Grand Slam trophy to rugby fans in towns all over the country. Ford is the official vehicle supplier to the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU).

2 February 2009 – Official figures for January show the car market in Ireland fell by 66% over the same period in 2008. According to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI), 15,929 cars were registered last month, down from 47,609 in January of last year. Ford, with a 17.9% share, was market leader, ahead of Toyota.
