Our ECOnetic range

Our ECOnetic range offers practical, affordable and sustainable vehicles, without sacrificing on style or driving dynamics. Combining our Ford kinetic Design style with high-tech conventional powertrain technology, ECOnetic vehicles use a clever combination of lower drive resistance, better aerodynamics and ultra-efficient engines to deliver class-leading ultra-low CO2 emissions. This makes them great to look at, great to drive, and more energy-efficient.

This means there is now one ECOnetic option available from Ford in Ireland - 140g/km Ford Mondeo ECOnetic, and we will continue to work towards making more low CO2 cars available.


Ford Mondeo ECOnetic

To transform our Mondeo into the ECOnetic variant, we recalibrated the vehicle, in particular the 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi 5-speed manual transmission engine with diesel particulate filter. We also lowered the suspension, fitted low rolling resistance tyres, and made a number of aerodynamic improvements. In conjunction with BP, our fuel partner, we discovered a low-viscosity transmission oil which is a highly efficient way of reducing energy waste.

Now, the Mondeo ECOnetic produces an average of just 139 g/km CO2. This low-viscosity oil has proved so efficient in testing that it will be introduced to several other Ford series.
